Welcome to Ida Jew Academy and Valle Vista Elementary

It is with great pride, excitement, and gratitude that I welcome you to Ida Jew Academy and Valle Vista Elementary (IJAVVE). I am honored to serve as your Principal and look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue to create exceptional learning experiences for every child.

At IJAVVE, we believe that every student has unique strengths, talents, and gifts to contribute. Our school is a place where innovation, creativity, collaboration, and belonging come together. Through our STEAM-focused learning opportunities and Dual Language Immersion program, we prepare students to thrive in a rapidly changing world while honoring the diverse cultures and languages that enrich our community.

Our vision is to create a learning community where learning is visible, growth is celebrated, and every student is empowered to achieve their full potential. We are committed to helping students understand what they are learning, why it matters, and how they can continue to grow. Through clear learning goals, meaningful feedback, reflection, and collaboration, students become active participants in their educational journey and develop the confidence and skills needed for lifelong success.

We learn, grow, and succeed together. By working in partnership with families, we create a supportive environment where students are challenged academically, inspired to explore their passions, and encouraged to become compassionate leaders who make a positive difference in the world.

A Homegrown Connection

As a proud San Jose native, this community holds a special place in my heart. I attended local schools and was the first person in my family to graduate from college. My educational journey led me to earn both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English, with a Minor in Communication, from Notre Dame de Namur University. I later earned my teaching credential from National Hispanic University.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, parent, and administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. These experiences have shaped my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to service are the foundation of student success.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, exploring the Bay Area, and connecting with the community I proudly call home.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children. I am excited for all that we will accomplish together and look forward to building a school community where every student feels valued, supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.
